Melon Peach and Ginger smoothie

Since I am reading Miracle Morning from Hal Elrod, I do not know why, but I always wake up before 6 am. I don’t do it on purpose – that is quite weird because I still can’t figure out why  I don’t stay in bed longer. And what’s funny about it is that I feel super well, I do more things everyday and I no longer feel bad about my to do list because all the tasks that I am supposed to do in a day are done! I am so proud of myself.

My last smoothie post was Easy Strawberry Watermelon smoothie in April. I cannot believe that I didn’t find the time to make one since I moved to Bordeaux. Yesterday, my baby brought home loads of fruits and vegetables from a local farmer and I prepared a tian which is a meal coming from Provence, South East France – I will post the recipe on my blog very soon by the way.

Anyway, when I woke up this morning I was determined to drink a smoothie and all I knew is that I wanted to incorporate melon in it. I got inspired and I decided to combine melon with peaches and ginger. Here the recipe:

INGREDIENTS


  • 1 melon, chopped
  • 2 peaches, chunked
  • a piece of ginger root, to taste, minced
  • 1 cup water

INSTRUCTIONS


  1. Blend all the ingredients including the cup of water.
  2. Serve immediatly

TIPS


  1. You can use vegan milk instead of water
  2. If you put to much ginger root in your smoothie you can add a teaspoon honey.

 

Easy Strawberry Watermelon smoothie

Sometimes, it is good to remember that France is a gorgeous country with amazing landscapes. Last weekend, I travelled to Mondeville in Normandy with my boo and it was such an amazing weekend. We went for walks on beaches, we cooked amazing dishes – be warned, easy vegetarian recipes are coming soon. It was very windy but it felt so good to be outside of Paris, even if it was only for three days. We bought tons of fruits, including a watermelon and strawberries so we prepared a fruit salad for dessert and we drank red wine (Bordeaux de Maucaillou 2013) and white wine (Bestheim Gewurztraminer). I know I already said it but it was amazing ! I wish it could have lasted longer. If you know beautiful spots in France, please feel free to comment below and let me know. ❤

Anyway, we only ate one half of the watermelon, therefore back home I decided to buy more strawberries and prepare this delicious vegan pink smoothie that I drank in my garden. Try it, you’ll love it! 🙂

  • Prep time: 15 min
  • Servings: 3

 

INGREDIENTS


  • 2 cups watermelon chunks 
  • 2 banana, sliced
  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 1 lime, juiced

 

INSTRUCTIONS


  1. Add the watermelon and the banana slices to a blender and blend for about 1 minute
  2. Add the lime juice, then the strawberries and blend again for 1 to 2 minutes

TIPS


  • You can use any berries to replace strawberries
  • You can decorate your smoothie with chia seeds, watermelon or lime slices 

Apple Vanilla Smoothie

Yesterday, my girl Justine prepared a delicious smoothie that she called “Gentle awakening” made with apples, pears, tangerines and vanilla extract. She inspired me, hence today’s recipe. 🙂

 

INGREDIENTS


2 apples
1 orange, freshly juiced
1/2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

 

INSTRUCTIONS


1) Wash, peel and remove seeds from the apples. Cut them in small chunks.
2) Mix the fruits with the orange juice and the vanilla extract for about 2-3 minutes.
4) It’s all ready now 🙂

Gentle Awakening Tangerine Vegan Smoothie

High five to Justine. I love her so much <3. One more time she sent me great pictures of a delicious smoothie. She made up the recipe AND and its name – was initially Réveil Douceur in French – and I found it pretty cool. The recipe, as you will see, is really easy and the result quite good.

INGREDIENTS


2 tangerines or clementines
1 apple
1 pear
2-3 teaspoons vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS


1) Wash, peel and remove seeds from the fruits
2) Cut everything into pieces and mix the fruits for about 2 minutes.
4) Add the vanilla extract and mix again. Voilà, it is ready now 😀

TIPS


 

  • Instead of tangerines (or clementines) ou can also use limes, lemons or oranges
  • You can also squeeze the juice from the citrus if you prefer

 

Banana and Pineapple Vegan Smoothie

After I went for a 6km run this morning I went straight to my kitchen to prepare a delicious refreshing vegan smoothie. I usually use coconut water to prepare them, but this time I used almond milk. It tasted so good. Try it, you won’t regret it!

 

INGREDIENTS


1 banana
1 cup pineapple chunks (I used frozen pineapple)
1 cup almond milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

 

INSTRUCTIONS


1) Put the milk in the blender with the pineapple chunks. Mix them for about 1 minute
2) Add the banana and the cinnamon and mix again for about 1 minute.
4) Voilà, it’s ready!

Vitamin C packed orange smoothie

This week I decided to wake up earlier in order to get more things done. Therefore, today, I woke up at 5.45 and surprisingly it was not hard at all! I started my day with prayers, being grateful for living another day on this planet, then I meditated, did some fitness and finished with a yoga routine. Then, breakfast time was coming and I did not know what to eat. I opened my fridge and the only fruits and vegetables I found was apples, oranges, pears, carrots, bananas plus some ginger. I did not know how to call my smoothie, hence the weird name “Vitamin C packed orange smoothie”. You should definitely try it 🙂 :

 

INGREDIENTS


1 banana
1 carrot
1 orange
1 apple
2 pears
Fresh ginger, to taste

1) Juice the orange and put the juice in the blender with the banana (sliced). Mix them for about 1 minute
2) Peel the carrot and the ginger, the apple and the pears and cut them into pieces
3) Add the apple and the pears and mix again
4) Add the ginger and mix for about 1 minute

Carrot, Ginger and lime smoothie

I was looking at pictures in my camera and stumbled upon pictures of this orange smoothie. I don’t even remember why I didn’t post it on my blog, propably because I didn’t want to become a spammer for those following this blog. I basically take photos of my food (and drinks) every single day. Anyway, the carrot, ginger and lime combo is simply perfect. I just wanted to add another flavour with the banana and it tasted really good. Enough said, here’s the recipe:

INGREDIENTS


1 banana, sliced
1 carrot
2 limes
Fresh ginger, to taste

 

INSTRUCTIONS


1) Juice the limes and put their juice in the blender with the slices of banana. Mix them for about 1 minute
2) Peel the carrot and the ginger, cut them into pieces and add them in the blender
3) Mix for about 1 minute

 

TIPS


You can also grate the carrot and ginger, that way, it will be easier to mix.

Anti-cold Vegan Smoothie

Yesterday when I woke up, I felt so cold and sick. I guess running on evenings doesn’t help, but well I am preparing for a half-marathon and I want to train for that. Therefore, I decided to prepare an “Anti-Cold Smoothie” as followed. It was full of natural remedies against cold and flu, and everybody who tasted it told it was delicious. The recipe is quite easy.

INGREDIENTS


1 cup dried almonds
1 banana
1 orange
1 lime
1 tbsp cinamon powder
Fresh ginger, to taste

 

INSTRUCTIONS


1) Juice the orange and the lime and put the juices in the blender with the almonds. Mix them for about 1-2 minutes
2) Cut the banana in slices and mix them with the cinnamon powder
3) Cut the fresh ginger in small pieces and mix it well until smooth.

Carrot, Lemon and Kiwi Smoothie

Thank you so much Justine for sending me this recipe, I know your new to the smoothie gang and it’s much appreciated! I have to admit that I don’t like kiwis but it is the thought that counts so thank you again love! ❤

 

INGREDIENTS


3 Pears
2 Kiwis
1 Lemon juice
1 Carrot

INSTRUCTIONS


1) Grate the carrot and add it in the blender with the lemon juice. Mix them together
2) Peel and cut the kiwis and pears into medium sized squares.
3) Add the little squares in the blender. Process until smooth.

 

TIPS


Make sure to remove all the seeds. I don’t really like to have seeds in a smoothie, it is not really pleasant, especially when they stay stuck between your teeth.

Raspberry and coconut smoothie

I’m so weak, after drinking this delicious smoothie, I went straight to my kitchen and ate to eat a handful of almonds. I thought I could spend a week without chewing food but I could not. I don’t know how Joe Cross managed to drink only green juices for 60 days Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.

 

INGREDIENTS


1 ½ cup coconut milk (depending on how thick you like it)
2 bananas, peeled and sliced
1 cup frozen raspberries

 

INSTRUCTIONS


1) Add the coconut milk and banana slices. Pulse 1 minute until smooth.
2) Add frozen raspberries and continue to pulse until smooth and enjoy
